On one hand, the writing is fueled by the desire to create a platform which allows me to record insights, observations about my time spent with J and M, and make a conscious and hopefully constructive effort to understand, appreciate and help the boys and have a positive impact on their development.</span></div><div style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif; text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif; text-align: justify;"><span style="font-size: small;"> On the other hand there is the overpowering sense that by creating logs, charting, observing the boys, I will "guinea pig" them, make them the objects of a perverse psychological curiosity, view them under the medical magnifying glass provided by a culture so ready to diagnose, pathologise and drug "patients".</span></div><div style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif; text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif; text-align: justify;"><span style="font-size: small;">I am skeptical about the chemical salvation we administer each morning and occasionally at night, which is a pill or two a day, but which amounts to at least 480 pills per annum , not counting the other medicine taken for various ailments. In spite of all the records, folders, reports I have seen about the boys , that were written up by various illustrious minds in the domains of child psychology, occupational therapy, I believe that at the core, the problem of these boys cannot be addressed purely on medical terms.</span></div><div class="blogger-post-footer"><img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/1866853657578046920-7418828313064505779?l=cockaigne.blogspot.com' alt='' /></div>dadamdudumhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11980224065299664445noreply@blogger.com0
